Repairs & Servicing

Our expert techs fix things once and for all!

Does something seem wrong with your lights? Or maybe it's a breaker that keeps tripping, a weird smell around an outlet, or just a strange hum or buzzing? We'll get to the bottom of it! Our team of licensed electricians are familiar with low voltage, main power, and high voltage systems of all shapes and sizes, and we'll be happy to diagnose your issue and provide a detailed repair report so you can rest easy that a once common electrical problem goes away for good!

There are also many issues which can't be easily seen or diagnosed with specialized electrical equipment. This includes things like ground faults, open/hot neutrals, and other electrical faults. If you're ever unsure of what your electrical issue may be, it's best to work with a licensed, professional electrician.

Note: A service call policy applies to any visits involving repairs and diagnostics. Please see details below.

  • How do I know if my electrical service has an issue?

Sometimes electrical issues are pretty straightfoward: Something stops working and you need it fixed! Other times, you may experience odd issues that require an experienced technician to diagnose the problem. This is especially true with homes on Long Island, as most homes were built with substandard materials back in the 1940s and 1950s.

Some other common issues to look out for include:

    • Strange humming, buzzing, and other noises when lighting is on or while large loads are running (such as your air conditioner or water heater).
    • The lights dim in parts of your home with an air conditioner or water heater turns on
    • An outlet appears to be loose, or large sparks occur when you plug something in.
    • Circuits or GFCIs in your home seem to trip randomly without clear explanation.
  • What is your service call policy?

If you call us requesting a service call, we'll bring a highly skilled technician to your home or business to provide immediate assistance with your electrical issue. Typically service calls involve unclear electrical issues where you request us to diagnose and repair as needed, rather than totally replace equipment.

Service calls are charged at $245 for two technicians for the first hour of diagnostics and repairs, and includes any basic parts needed to complete the repair. Additional time and parts, if needed, will be discussed during the service call visit. We will be up front and transparent about any additional costs in order to complete your repair beyond the initial service call charge.

You can request an estimate for an unclear electrical issue, but we will not perform any diagnostics and the quote will be for a total replacement (e.g. a new circuit or panel), rather than to resolve the specific issue. Service calls are usually less expensive than equipment replacement.

If you request any hands on work or diagnostics, then our service call fee will apply, regardless of the reason for our visit (such as an estimate). The technician will be up front if your estimate visit is becoming a service call visit instead.

Note: Typical home repairs can be completed within the first hour by our technicians, and "basic parts" refers to switches, outlets, breakers, and other commonly available parts. The technician reserves final judgment of whether any parts fees will apply.

  • What happens during a service call?

When we arrive to conduct a service call, the first thing we'll do is conduct a full diagnosis of the problem you're experiencing and provide a detailed diagnosis report to you. This diagnosis report will include:

    • A summary of the testing we did to identify the issue
    • A short explanation of why we believe the issue is occurring. We're also happy to walk you through our process and explain the causes of your issue
    • A recommended repair plan with full transparency of the options available to you.
  • What is your estimates policy?

If you are looking to scope a future electrical project, we'll be happy to provide a free estimate prior to starting any work. An estimate involves no hands on diagnostics and is solely a quote to perform service.

Once we arrive, we will take a look at your home or business and provide a quote based on our competitive price book. Quotes are guaranteed for a set period of time, usually 7 days unless stated otherwise.

You can request an estimate for an electrical issue, but it will be priced as a total replacement (e.g. a new circuit), not a repair or service request. We will not provide a free quote for a repair or diagnostics, as this falls under our service policy.
